Well, today marks my first venture back into Latin as a language since I taught myself some basic phrases and words back in high school. I know I certianly will have an interesting time of this class. My style of learning language is very different from most teaching methods, probably due to my early problems with reading to begin with, so I usually end up teaching myself even if I am in a class. That was, at least, my experience with Spanish back in Elementary and Highschool. Hopefully, my decent latin root vocabulary, steming from all the medical and philosophical jargon I have in my head, as well as my love for word origins, will make the class fairly painless. On the other hand, I have a fear of latin verbs that almost borders on a phobia, so who knows.
Fortunately, my primary problem with languages, pronunciation, should be fairly low on the issue scale for this class. Its not like I'm training to be a Catholic preist or anything like that, just a philosopher. Its that reason that I didn't take german, as much as I love the language - my fear of my own poor accent, which I know is horrible, keeps me from enroling in any such class out of shear embarasment.
On a side note, let me state that my Plato text is Heavy as anything I've had since accounting 2, and is probably larger than some bibles I've handled. Hell, its larger than most Robert Jordan hard backs I've seen. I've decided to keep it at work, since thats where I usually do my reading, so I dont have to lug it back and forth all the time, on top of the anthro books I have to lug in every day already on Monday and Wens.
So, the semester is underway. I hopefully will continue to blog this often, and get off my lazy ass and finish revamping my site. Yes, I KNOW the information on my front page is way out of date. *sighs*

Oh, btw, for those of you interested, I will be here tonight, being an uber astronomy geek, and going Ooo and Ahhh at Mars. That reminds me, I need to check the weather.
