Its fun watching the university come back to life before a semester starts. Classes start next Monday, and already students are wandering about campus, some walking with purpose, others lost and ambling like zombies in search of the next item on their paper lists, clutched in their hands like treasures. Some travel in packs of three or four, mainly older students, talking and gabbing, catching up on gossip for a new year to begin. The bookstores already are selling textbooks, parking is already a nightmare, and the slow swell of the return of the students will come to a head monday, when everyone shows for thier first classes, eager to see if its a class they can skip the rest of the semester.
Its strange to watch it from such an outsiders point of view. The kids come, they leave, and they come back again. All the while, I am here, doing what I need to get done. But, I guess thats how I've always watched life, at least academicly.

Five days till classes, and already the apathy is setting in. I love this school.
