Barriers to Equality in Academia: Women in Computer Science at MIT (1983)
A tad out of date, but WELL worth the long read. This paper discusses the social barriers that block women in the CS field. What is one of the big ones? Most CS guys are geeks... any woman being nice to them MUST want to date them - and if shes smart - BONUS! I can really really relate to this - all my friends are male geeks - and I swear i think all but a few of them are sexually attracted to me in SOME way. The few that arent are either very spoken for, just not of my persuasion, or have other issues. GUYS! Im just another person, just another geek! Quit clinging to my LEG!
